A kitchen appliance giveaway often comes from the manufacturer or a home media brand, while a home makeover sweepstakes may pay a set dollar amount toward work you arrange yourself. Most forms for a home sweepstakes with free entry ask for basic contact details and allow one entry per person or per day. Some require a no purchase necessary mail-in route if a purchase code is also offered.
Read how the prize is delivered. Delivery and installation may be included or may be yours to pay for, and some items won't ship to every state. The winner owes income tax on the value of the prize, even when it arrives as furniture and not as money. A furniture sweepstakes may also require you to choose from a set list or redeem a voucher by a certain date.
